Sometimes I will get to thinking about stuff that happened a long time ago and the details are a little foggy so I start filling in the blanks with super cool details. But then at the end of the story my brain runs out of cool stuff and puts in stupid made up details and no matter how hard I try the story ends up really lame.
For example, I remember one time that I went camping with my buddies in highschool and I was the only person with a flying car so I drove. I had been working landscaping at the time so I was excited to hit the beach and show off my guns and washboard abs.
As soon as we landed, we set up camp and as luck would have it our site was right next to the cheerleader’s site. They were having trouble setting up their campsite so I offered to help. It was really hot that day so I had to take off my shirt before I got started which really seemed to please the ladies. My buddies were all angry with me because they wanted to meet up with their parents and drink lemonade but I insisted that I stay and help until the girls were all set.
After about an hour and a half of getting everything set up for the very appreciative cheerleaders I looked around and could not see my friends anywhere so I called for them. “I’m sitting right next to you” shouted my buddy Jason as he handed me my glasses. I thanked him and put on my glasses only to find that the cheerleaders were actually elderly ladies and while I thought I was assembling their tent I had actually stacked all of their walkers and canes in the shape of a teepee. I asked my buddies why they didn’t say anything and they shrugged as they handed me my hearing aid. Those ladies were not happy at all!
This is really hard to believe.
Even harder to remember!
Indeed.
